Thanks to chemical, we now have a MESS emulator message board set up. Feel free to discuss and post questions about this great new multi system emulator.

I have decided on my new background for the new page, as well as the logo. Thanks again for everyone's contribution. The new page will HOPEFULLY be online by the weekend, but no guarantees.

CPS-2 Games being decrypted: I recieved a VERY promissing e-mail. It seems that EMUXTRAORDINARY has been working on decrypting the cps2 roms and has made astonishing accomplishments, to quote directly. He is now planning on releasing his own emulator instead of working off of Callus. While has has some good info, he could always use more. If you could help, give him an e-mail. Expect a beta hopefully within two weeks.

Duddie quits emu-scene: Duddie has sent us, and other emulator page webmasters a very sad letter. Due to other obligations, Duddie will no longer be able to work on PSEmu. However, PSEmu Pro is coded by Tratax with little help from Duddie, so there will be Windows version when it is ready. So... any questions, regarding PSEmu should be directly posted to Tratax. Do not hassle Duddie about this, his mailbox will be removed today anyway. We here at DVGC, wish Duddie the very best.

Virtual Boy Tech Info: Ben Haynor, author of MetaLynx has set up a page in hopes of gathering info for the Virtual Boy system. The past couple weeks great progress has been made in understanding the inner workings of the Virtual Boy, including a graphics viewer, disassembler, and a rudimentary and somewhat inaccurate CPU simulator. The only information needed to begin work on a full blown emulator and/or new games is to define the hardware registers and the CPU's memory map. If you can help, don't hesitate to do so.

Brad Oliver interviewed: The Italian Emulation Palace has conducted an interview with Brad Oliver (MESS, MAME, etc). Click here to read it. The interview is available for readers of both Italian and English.

Added BOO V1.0 (New Ghouls and Ghosts Emu)

NeoRAGE News: The PC Arcade does it again with a breaking news story regarding the next release of NeoRAGE! According to the PC Arcade, the next beta release should be out this week, followed by a public release when the testing is finished. The new features will include:

  • The Zoom feature is finished and works apart from some sprites still get clipped.
  • Joystick support has been added.
  • Some of the copy protection on newer games has been cracked. Still problems with it though.

Thanks to Gabriel Tang for the news.

Speaking of Neo Geo Emulation, more are Neo Geo Image mirrors are online:

Burning Fight (Thanks to The Beaf)
Crossed Swords (Thanks to The Beaf and hpackarde)
League Bowling (thanks to Retroworld)

And I finally got off my but and updated various Neo Geo Frontends. Sorry it took so long. :)

Great RAINE News! It appears now that RAINE can continue, and a new release will be available afterall. Richard got internet access thanks to a friend (about once a week). The next release has also added support for Ninja Warriors (3 screens game) and Space Gun. Read about it at the official RAINE page. Thanks to Chad Coffman for the news.

The MESS page is now online! The new versions will always be posted here from this day forward. There still is currently no DOS source or binary available. However, MAC binary and source, as well as the Acorn/RISC binary are now available for download.

Added I-Robot Emulator V0.97

Today I am adding a new SNES ROM section. Before you get all excited about this, you should know that it will contain ONLY freeware and public domain games and images. NO COMMERICAL GAMES WILL BE PROVIDED.

Neo Geo Trainers: Added Kiwi's Last Resort trainer, as well as a trainer for Nam 1975.
Added a new Java game: Wermz

Yes, another PMAME and AMAME update from Rodimus Prime. This should FINALLY clear up all the remaining joypad problems, that the last binary did not.

More news on Capcom Generations: It now appears that the commerical Capcom arcade packs will be distributed in a number of different series, similar to the Namco Playstation packs. Capcom first pack with 1941, 1942 and 1943 is slated for release later this fall. You can read about the it, at this website. Thanks to WorknMan for the news.

PEX News: The PEX page has been given an update. PEX is another Playstation emulator for the PC. The page states R3000A core is receiving an overhaul and that the new core, called I3000 will actually be 2 cores in 1. Also, it is mentioned that sound will come last to the emulator, after everything else is implemented. Read the full story here. Thanks to Ash for the news.

For those of you who still use Jeff Miller's Great Win'95 front end for MAME, you can download the updated MWR file for beta 4 by clicking here. File sent by Ric Kalford.

Callus 0.40 and KGEN set a record for us! On June 2, we set a new daily hit record with 107,821 hits for the day, according to Web Side Story! Thanks to everyone for the support.

MacMAME Binary Posted: Many Mac users have requested that i post the MacMAME binary locally, because of the horrible speeds on the normal server.
